Images taken last week show the damage that the new play area in Victoria Park, Bideford has been subjected to arson.
It is not know at this stage who the culprits are. This has led to Torridge District Council posting the follow on social media:

Unfortunately, we have to report that an attempted arson incident has taken place in Victoria Park. The photos below show that there has been burning at the very top section of the tower.
The vandalism has been reported to the police; the tower is still currently open for use and the damaged platform will be replaced in due course.
